Johannes Bosgra, born in 1979 in Hardegarijp) has traveled the world from an early age to the most desolate places, from Antarctica to Alaska. During those travels he developed a passion for photography. In making his work he is inspired by contemporary classical music. And he is a pianist himself. He has received awards from the International Photography Awards, Black & White Spider Awards and the Moscow International Photo Awards
Bosgra was chairman of the Hortus Festival for chamber music and has worked with the Noord Nederlands Orkest.
“When composing an image, I am inspired by classical music and I look for harmony, rhythm and subtle color tones in the image. I carefully choose the light and the elements in the landscape, so that the essence of the place emerges in a quiet and somewhat abstracted way.”
